150 Acres , Fruit , Cattle , Agri-Tourism , ‘3’ Dwellings – Gympie District
150 acres (60.59ha) FRUIT/CATTLE farming and AGRI-TOURISM property located in the prime agricultural district of Lower Wonga, 20 minutes NW of Gympie and a short drive to the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
This fertile farmland is some of the best in the district with an established Feijoa orchard, a lemon leaf oils plantation and a small vineyard producing table grapes. This very versatile farming enterprise has been thoughtfully set up to provide a number of income streams.
There are three dwellings including the three bedroom main home complete with air conditioning, ensuite and fireplace, another two bedroom air conditioned quarters with an additional room nearby large enough to accommodate three people. The third fully renovated home has been cleverly incorporated into the packing shed with three bedrooms, air conditioning, spa bath and large fully enclosed entertainment area overlooking the beautiful dam and the property.
Other infrastructure includes the 12m x 12m packing and processing shed, large 8-bay carport plus 12m x 8m workshop near the main home, an equipment shed 10m x 8m, two fully irrigated shade houses and propagation shed and a large office block with reception area and five offices also near the main home.
There are 2,500 Feijoa fruit trees fully irrigated via underground mainline from the creek which borders the property and includes an 8ha irrigation licence and room to add another 500 trees. The feijoa fruit is an exotic new fruit slightly smaller than an avocado with a honey coloured, granular juicy flesh with a mildly tangy flavour. Feijoas are high in Vitamin C, Fibre and anti-oxidants.
There are also 14,000 lemon leaf bushes well established and used to harvest the foliage and extract the lemon oil for sale.
There is a set of cattle yards for managing any cattle grazed on the property. The pasture areas would easily support 20 head of adult cattle.
The huge 38 megalitre irrigation dam is sited in the middle of the orchard area and is large enough for water activities. The dam could be further expanded to 260 megalitre if required. There is also a fully equipped 900 gal/hr bore.
The opportunities to prosper from this farm are not only provided by the established orchards and facilities but could include a caravan park, campground, homestay and even a licenced restaurant STCA given the perfect position of the property so close to the ballooning population of the South-East Queensland corner.
